Cayenne pepper is a very popular treatment for hair growth and strengthening the hair follicles to prevent hair loss. Cayenne pepper is rich with capsaicin and also contains carotenoids and flavonoids. Also cayenne is very rich with vitamins: just 100 g of cayenne has 41,610 IU or astonishingly 1387% of vitamin A. Cayenne is also good in B complex group of vitamins such as niacin, pyridoxine (vitamin B-6), riboflavin and thiamin (vitamin B-1).
For hair growth you can use cayenne pepper locally over the area where the hair growth is desired. By causing heat irritation on the scalp, cayenne pepper increases blood flow to the hair follicles making hair roots stronger and leading to thicker, healthier hair. Cayenne pepper can be very harsh to sensitive skin, so before using cayenne homemade remedies, make sure you are not overly sensitive or allergic to it. Also, cayenne pepper should not be applied to an open wound or dry, cracked skin.
Here is the recipe how to make cayenne pepper hair mask:
Mix equal parts of cayenne pepper and olive oil to create a thick paste. Using your fingertips gently rub the paste into your scalp and massage the paste moderately, then cover with a shower cap and leave on for ten to fifteen minutes. Remove the shower cap, shampoo and rinse thoroughly. You can also leave the paste in your hair overnight if you wish to intensify its effect. If you have a sensitive scalp, you can use a mix of cayenne pepper with olive oil in a 1:2 ratio; thus by having twice as much olive oil, it will reduce the excessive heat from the cayenne pepper.
